P.E.
At Hallaton School we believe that keeping children fit and healthy through an active curriculum is key to our children's mental health and well-being, and an important part of their learning and development.
All children are taught by sports professionals for two hours every week in a dedicated P.E. session, following our Curriculum Map Long Term Overview below. We also ensure that children remain active throughout lunchtimes with a dedicated Sports Coach and resources available for active social play. Two of our Year 6 children are Sports Leaders who help facilitate and encourage the younger children to take part.
As well as a weekly P.E. lesson, children have opportunity to take part in competitive events and skills sessions run by Rutland School Sport Partnership. These run either during or after school and include such events as; Girls & Boys' football, Swimming Galas, Cross Country and Quad Kids a multi sport event. (See below the schedule for this year).
We also take part in Core Dance School's Big Dance event at Corby Cube theatre.
