PSHCE and RSE
Personal, Social, Health and Citizenship Education (PSHCE) and Relationship and Sex Education (RSE) is an important and necessary part of our pupils' education and is taught throughout a child’s time at Hallaton. Our children learn to grow and develop as individuals, members of families and of social and economic communities.
We aim to develop positive attitudes and values that influence healthy relationships, explore and understand feelings, attitudes and values and equip our children with the skills to make informed choices.
PSHCE and Relationship Education are taught through all curriculum areas as well as individual lessons: Rights and Responsibilities, Feelings and Friendship, Safety and Risk, Identity, Health, Money, and Health and Relationships.
At Hallaton Primary, we understand that pupils must be provided with an education that prepares them for the opportunities, responsibilities and experiences of adult life. A key part of this relates to Relationships and Sex Education, which is a statutory part of education for every primary-aged pupil. We believe that our school has a duty to inform and educate children on appropriate issues regarding health, sex and relationships.
Our Relationships and Sex Education policy and overview has been written in consultation with our staff, parents and school governors.
